Cuisinart 12-Cup Programmable Black Drip Coffee Maker with Carafe

This is a great coffeemaker — the only reason I am giving it 4 stars rather than 5 is due to the fact that pouring the water into the reservoir is awkward. It’s unfortunate. If the top of the coffeemaker went back all the way instead of stopping at a 90 degree angle, it would be a breeze to add the water. So to compensate, I have to tilt the entire coffeemaker almost on its side to be able to add all of the water from the coffee pot to the reservoir.

This is my second of these coffee makers, which I chose for size and capacity (it fits my counter space and makes pretty good coffee). There are a few negatives: the hinged top interferes with the access to the water reservoir, so you cannot completely empty the carafe of water into the machine “” you can’t tip it high enough before bumping into the lid. And the white plastic parts of the carafe “” the lid and the pour spout “” stain immediately with the first pot brewed and poured, turning brown very quickly.

I had Cuisinart thermal carafe coffee pot for years. I generally made a few cups for myself but when I would try to make a pot of 8 or more cups, it always ran over. What a mess on the counter. I believe it was the way the lid on the carafe worked that caused the problem. Finally, I pitched and looked for one with a better design. The one I have now is awesome. Always works – no matter how large of a pot I make.

We were overdue for an update if not an upgrade.Having a good experience with our coffee maker we started and ended our search with the latest Cuisinart models.Familiar controls and function.Easy to program and uae.Fresh styling.Mostly maintenance free.Good coffee results.All winning qualities.One con remark: not the quietest unit.Not really bad just aware on those rare mornings I get to sleep a little later.

I do not like the way you pour in the water.It is not easy for a left-handed person to do.The water spills often.Also I do not like the top of the coffee pot, it is very hard to get of.It would be better if it swung open.

Brews really hot delicious coffee everyday! Totally recommend it!

As a new replacement to a very defective predecessor of the same model only two years old, we appreciate this coffee maker when it works. So far so good…but the jury is still out on its longevity. If the new replacement craps out, we won’t purchase another. If it dies of old age before we do, we will buy another.

More dependable that my previous Cuisinart coffee pot. This one has an electric relay on/off switch not an slide switch like my old one, which broke several times. Makes great tasting coffee, easy to use & clean. I look forward to many years of service.
