The RAGE2 is a 14-inch Multipurpose Chop Saw that can cut mild steel and a variety of materials. A powerful 15A/1800W motor, hi-torque gearbox, solid construction and ultra-high grade TCT blade enables the Rage 2 to cut steel, aluminum, wood, wood with embedded nails, and plastics with just the one supplied blade. This chop saw cuts steel with no heat, no burrs & virtually no sparks; leaving an instantly workable finish. The included high grade carbide multipurpose blade far exceeds the life of an abrasive disc; making the Rage 2 quicker, safer, more accurate & economical than an abrasive saw. The RAGE2 also comes with a fast action swivel clamp for 0-45 degree miter cuts, V-block for securely clamping pipe, and a 3 year limited warranty. The versatility, accuracy, and reliability of the RAGE2 make it the ideal Chop Saw for DIY’ers and tradesmen alike.

I love this saw, I’m a guy that works out of his garage who has only worked with wood over the years. About 7 years I bought a welder and started working with steel. I can absolutely say that you will love this saw over ANY abrasive disk chop saw. It’s cuts very fast and must more accurate. The one thing I like about the more expensive evolution is the quick-release on the screw drive. It takes a little longer to spin the wheel. Did I say I love this saw. Get the metal cutting blade too!

I used it to build a hoist and a 72 inch belt grinder. Cutting 1 1/2 mild steel tubing 1/8 thick walls. I have made maybe 40 cuts. It works great. The cuts are clean, miters are clean and square. It cuts like a hot knife through butter just hit the trigger, let the blade do the work and in about 2 seconds it is through the tubing. Faster and cleaner than a grinding wheel type. Only draw back is the blades are $87.00 to replace. Not sure how long the blade will last so far it still cuts like it’s new.

I had the commercial EVO with the cast deck, the previous version of this one, or the more expensive one, not sure. Anyway you get clean machine quality cuts but I kept going up and up in blade price because I just could not get the blades to last very long. I really think steel cutting needs cooling or really expensive blades. I was on my third $150 dollar blade when I was faced with the decision of going up to the next price level of blade or selling the saw ($3-500) and I sold the saw. Abrasive is cheaper and if you have the space a band saw is cheaper still. This is a great portable tool but you can spend a lot on blades. Also you cannot cut short pieces of metal; if the work piece jumps all of the teeth can break off. Like I said great field tool but I would go to a water cooled system or water cool this.
