I was so disappointed because I love and trust all my Kitchen Aid mixers. (I have owned only two with life spans of almost 50 years!.) I bake with a group of ladies and we mail homemade treats to deployed service men and my old Kitchen Aid mixer has made laboring sounds when I mix up batches of biscotti and other cookies. My rating below is based on my first two mixers, not this one that has been returned for credit.

Therefore, the “stir” setting causes the mixer to run way too fast, flinging ingredients across the kitchen and making a huge mess. And this is not just flour, I’m talking a cup of melted butter splattered all over the place. Fortunately I was able to find a YouTube video and with a bit of fiddling with some screws I was able to fix it. I just don’t feel for the price of this machine that I should have had to fix it right out of the box!
