Mayhew 58 in. 58-C OAL Dominator

This pry bar is got to be the best. The grip is comfortable. The bar it self is very strong. The grip end is metal to allow for hitting it with a hammer if needed. I just love this pry bar. I used it when working on some farm equipment getting ready for fall field work. I have had it just shy of a month and sure I will find many uses in the near future. This pry bar is among the best and would have nothing else.

Made in the USA, this pry bar may not get everyday use, but when some extra leverage is needed the 58 inch length and ¾ inch square shank should stand up to trying to move anything capable of being moved. The hand grip appears to be a molding of two different compounds. The area which one grips has a softer, rubber-like feel making it comfortable while exerting force on it . A metal end-cap is provided to reduce damage to the grip when stood on end. The end cap is not connected to the shank of the tool. Lacking any massive boulders or large pieces of machinery to immediately test it, I inserted the tip of the tool about 4-5 inches into a hitch receiver on an SUV and pulled up until the vehicle starting lifting on its suspension. Following this, I stood on the handle (180 lbs). In both cases, the shank deflected slightly, but without permanent deformation, springing back to its original condition when the forces were removed. That slight “springiness” will also be beneficial when trying to budge an object to overcome “stiction”. In summary, a quality built pry bar, strong but not overly heavy with a comfortable grip for ease of use.

The 58 in. 58-C OAL Dominator pry bar is a serious pry bar. It has a cushion handle is large enough to handle with both hands. The handle also has a steel striking cap so you do not damage the handle when striking with a hammer. The 3/4 inch tempered steel shaft runs all the way thru the handle for more prying power and on the other end it has a 45 degree angle for leverage.

This made-in-the-USA Mayhew Dominator bar is incredibly stout. I got no noticeable flex from the 3/4″ hardened and tempered steel shaft in any of the jobs that I’ve put it to. There is no comparison between this quality US-made bar and the offshore-made bars that are available in the auto parts stores. I got this bar 58″ bar for both working on my large trucks, and also job site use. This is a rather hefty bar that is indeed 5′ long. Mayhew offers these Dominator bars in many lengths, and depending on your needs, one in the 3-4 foot range may be more appropriate. Whatever length you choose, you can’t go wrong.

Built for heavy duty leverage, this 58 inch long pry bar is heavy, solid and well made.
