Milwaukee M12 FUEL 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Stubby 1/4 in. Impact Wrench Kit with One 4.0 and One 2.0Ah Batteries

Another great Milwaukee tool kit! This kit has a nice fabric case to store the charger, impact wrench and both batteries that come in the kit. It’s great having the 4.0 and the 2.0 batteries that are also compatible with other M12 Fuel 12-volt tools. The impact wrench has a light that turns on when in use to make sure you have a good view while using the tool. The batteries are long lasting and easy to swap when one runs down.

This review is for Milwaukee Tool product 2552-22, 1/4-inch Stubby Impact Wrench Kit. This kit includes a zippered carrying bag of tough woven synthetic fabric, impact wrench, M12 battery charger, compact 2.0 amp-hour M12 Red Lithium battery, XC 4.0 amp-hour M12 Red Lithium battery and operator’s manuals. The impact wrench has a split-ring chuck and is driven by an efficient and quiet brushless motor. It weighs a light 2.0 lbs. with the 2.0 amp-hour battery and 2.5 lbs. with the 4.0 amp-hour battery. The drive is nicely angled from the soft-grip handle to facilitate comfort during use. With either battery installed, this wrench is less than 8 inches tall. Not having had a 1/4-inch impact wrench before, I purchased a 48-socket set to accommodate use of this tool, using it to assemble an aluminum hand truck and to replace rubber paddles for two snow blowers. It worked well for all of the disassembly, reassembly and assembly work. For the assembly and reassembly work, I used the auto-shutoff mode. That mode uses electronic control to prevent over-driven and stripped small fasteners. Because of the small size of this tool, access to remove the rubber snow blower paddles was very good. I would not have otherwise even attempted using an impact wrench to do this work. This tool is low-noise so that hearing protection is not needed. The wrench includes a 5-year limited warranty. This is another much-appreciated and innovative addition to my Milwaukee Tool product workshop. I suggest that the handyman purchasing this tool consider The Home Depot for purchase of a good 1/4-inch, six-point socket set. I purchased their Internet No. 3003158458 set, finding it a good value.

This is just another excellent tool made by Milwaukee, unlike other 1/4″ drive impact type tools this impact has an advertised torque rating of 100# and that is the torque setting on the lug nuts on my car. After testing it with different size fasteners I believe that it is more than capable of driving any type fastener home or removing it, ( at least the ones I would ever use in my day to day electrical / diy jobs.) The trigger and the 3 different speeds allows you to really control the drive speed and force of this tool and I believe you would not have any problem stripping out screws or over tightening bolts/nuts. One thing I would like to see added to the “Kit” is to add a “Hex Drive Chuck” adaptor that would slip on the square drive shank of the impact, (like a socket). This would allow me to use some of my other hex drive bits and etc instead of needing to dig out another impact / drill just to drill a hole or two?

Great tool

I kind of feel sorry for my compressor, I only use it to fill tires and pool toys now. I have pretty much switched to Milwaukee tools for all of my fastener removal and tightening for my race car, work trucks and equipment. They make them small enough to fit in tight spaces and have enough power to do the job or turn them down if you are working on something that is delicate. Not dragging and tripping over the air hose is nice, not to mention having to account for the hose making it hard to position the tool correctly. I have these in most of the sizes available and can just put the correct socket on each one and just quickly switch tools instead of stopping to switch sockets. It has saved me quite a bit of time.

Outstanding package. I use this daily for collision repair. Great size and power. Adjustable power selector is a great feature. I mainly use 2.0Ah battery because of size for what i do. Been running 2 weeks on that battery and still at 50% charge. I highly recommend.

Perfect for my job

This a great tool. I have had others but this one makes working much easier. Brushless motor technology provides 1,600 in./lbs. of torque, more runtime, and a more compact tool at 5.1, which means less trips to the charger and greater access in tight spaces. I am so happy to have this. My friends are so wanting one now. Thank you for this wonderful tool.

Excellent tool

I use the gun a lot and it last a long time on a charge with the bigger battery that comes with it.
