The Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE Impact-Duty Extractors are engineered with an optimized geometry to grip and remove the most demanding stuck, rounded over, rusted, painted on, stripped and damaged fasteners. Included with this set are 5 Impact-Duty extractors for fastener heads from 1/4 in. to 1/2 in. that accept 3/8 in. square drive tools as well as a 1/4 in. to 3/8 in. SHOCKWAVE square socket adapter with up to 30X life for use in quick change impact drivers. The bits feature thick, hardened alloy steel for durability, color-coded rings for quick and easy size identification and a retention holder to keep them organized. I was skeptical about using these extractors, as they look funny. Nonetheless, they do their job as I found out and are VERY strong, being impact-rated. Stripped bolts can turn a good day into a bad one. They can turn a few minutes of work into a few hours. These are color-coded and labeled for quick finding. It’s healthy for the brain to be able to correlate colors with numbers, and after a few uses, they’ll be engrained into your memory. They come in 1/4″, 5/16″ (8mm), 3/8″, 7/16″ (11mm) and 1/2″, respectively. If the size you need is not mentioned in this list, that’s okay – due to the twist design of these sockets, anything close to it will fit. Nonetheless, it’s nice to have a set of the most common sizes. They come in a nice rubber mold so they don’t get lost, and included is a complementary 3/8″ drive which can hook up to any drill or impact driver, having a divit for quick-disconnect as well. The smell though, is wonderful, like burnt rubber; I’m not kidding!

Very easy to install on hex impact driver. Removes stripped head or rounded screw/bolt heads. Has great taper angle for getting a solid grip on screw/bolt head or nut to be removed. Works exceptionally well with Milwaukee hex drive impact driver. Finish is matte black with size and badging laser etched. Each kit come complete with driver base and extractor sockets. Facilitates quick change and does not fall apart during use. Tool Box necessity!

The impact extractor set worked for a few stubborn bolts that I had. Our swing set is open to all the MN elements including extreme cold and heat. I was able to easily loosen and remove a couple bolts. After removing them I replaced. I did notice a little marring on the wood so keep that in mind when you are using this tool. If you are in need of extracting a bolt, this will do it but there might be a little surface damage to your material.
