Nesco 180 W Silver Electric Food Slicer

The slicer is very easy to operate and the removal of the blade and the sliding rack is very simple and makes it easy to clean. Overall, this is a very good product for the price.

Motor turns too slow. Lots of meat wasted because the meat gets caught between the floor plate and the blade. Though it is for occasional use, I will buy a better quality slicer and donate this one.

I have now used my Nesco 180 W Silver Electric Food Slicer several times without any issues including one use that was about 20 minutes of continuous slicing of salami, cheese, smoked ham, smoked turkey breast and a slab of fresh bacon. It has done a very good job I would recommend this to any Family Kitchen. Disassembly and cleaning is simple and well designed. While it is not commercial grade it is at the high end of consumer grade quality.

Great food slicer. Easy to use and clean.

Good slicer for home use. Blade is very sharp and slices up ham and turkey for lunch meat. Unit is fairly small and could not handle a large item to slice. Very simplistic construction for the slide. Blade adjustment is a dial on the side and very easy to use. The only negative so far is the blade is very hard to re-attach after cleaning and you must be very careful not to get cut. Suction cups on the bottom of the unit hold it in place when slicing. There is no adjustment on the blade speed.

Works great, runs smoothly, blade mount is plastic, but seems secure. I bought this slicer for slicing ribeye, and kc strips into steaks, so I wish it had a little more travel on the tray. Slicing whole ribeye or kc strip requires angling the cut of meat and dropping it across the blade to start the cut, but it cuts cleanly for it’s entire range of thicknesses. Motor does get warm enough I waited for it to cool between each slab of beef. I doubt it would survive processing a whole deer, but for slicing potatoes, tomatoes, onions, the occasional slab of beef, slicing roast beef, etc… for most home kitchen uses, it works great. I bought it to replace a 6 year old Rival slicer, the Rival handles the steak cutting better, but it’s plastic blade mount failed almost immediately, allowing the blade to fall off and roll away randomly while slicing.

Does what it says it will do, can’t ask for more than that.
