There is a light that automatically comes on when you tip it upside down which is great for seeing in the dark. It has a ceramic grinding mechanism which allows you to get the grind exactly the way you like it. There is absolutely nothing better than fresh salt, pepper or seasonings. They are very visually appealing and look absolutely great on the counter or on the table. They have windows in them so you know when you are running low, which is very nice because it takes the guess work out. I love no more mess on the counter or table. These are very easy to fill, I use a funnel so none slip away while filling. It comes with the batteries needed and also instructions.
