The RIDGID 14-Gallon 2-stage industrial wet dry vac has certified HEPA filtration and meets the EPA’s definition of a HEPA vacuum under RRP rule for lead paint renovations. It also offers large capacity, rugged construction, and excellent mobility for pro, contractor, industrial and commercial use. The dual blower wheel is driven by an 11.5 amp motor to deliver the heavy duty, high-lift suction needed to efficiently handle the toughest wet or dry worksite or shop clean-up tasks. The 10 ft. premium locking pro-hose won’t pull loose during use and is 4 times more durable than a standard hose. The vac’s pro hose won’t crimp providing optimum airflow. This unit also features a cord wrap, a heavy duty 2-piece drum construction, accessory storage, and Scroll Noise Reduction Technology for quiet operation. Replacement Filter HF1000 Sold separately.

I purchased this Ridgid 14 gal. HEPA Wet/Dry Vac because we have a couple of them at work and I was so impressed that I decided to spend some money and purchase one for my home projects. What really impressed me was that this vacuum is really quiet compared to the Ridgid vac that I had, yet this HEPA vac still has strong suction. I also like the fact that I can use a disposable bag in this HEPA vac because my old Ridgid could not accomodate a bag because it had the removable “blower” feature. Now when I empty out my vacuum, I dont have to breath in all the dust that I sucked into the vacuum.This HEPA vac is a little expensive for us “blue collar” workers, but I have seen HEPA vacs go for over a thousand dollars. And when you consider the features as well as the accessories like the Turbo Brush, attachments and the heavy duty hose, which would be bought separately if you purchased the other shop vacs that Ridgid (or any other shop vac mfg.) sell, then its not so bad. I haven’t had the “issues” that others have had with this vacuum like the loose hose connections or someplace to put the hose on the vacuum. Overall, I would definetely buy this vacuum again, although I think it will last for awhile, and most surely recommend to a friend.

The vaccum does work but a bit short on suction power. Small pieces of wood or similar get stuck in the nozzle and require a push to continue on thru. Overall the HEPA process appears to work as the exhaust is fairly clear, etc. If I had to choose over I would have spent another $100 for one with more power.

We bought this to clean up a basement that has lead-based paint dust. The HEPA filter is expensive but worth it. The machine holds a lot of debris, is rather lightweight (I’m 5′ 1″ and can’t lift much), and the cord is nice and long. Just one thing: I wish there was a hose holder that would hold the hose in place when wrapped around the machine. Other than that, great.
