RYOBI 6 Amp Corded 3 in. x 18 in. Portable Belt Sander

Excellent power for some heavy duty sanding on some 4×4’s that needed squaring to each other.

I bought this sander to replace my burnt out Porter Cable about a month ago. I finally had a chance to use it on some treated pine as well as some oak. I have to say I am impressed with this machine. It tracked well with little adjustment and didn’t groove soft wood like pine. It performed as well or better than much heavier, more expensive belt sanders I’ve used in the past.

This sander is fantastic, it will eat some wood if you want it to or create a smooth surface. It is easy to maintain and use.

I bought this to do one major job. I had to sand an entire shed exterior. went throught 20 or so belts and no issues with this machine.

Very good for the price. I wanted to get a cordless but they were too bulky. This is just the right size for small to medium jobs, lots of power, easy to adjust and change belts.

The price was decent but other than that not thrilled with the sander compared to belt sanders I’ve used in the past 30 years, I haven’t used one as slow as this one. There was one coarse sanding belt that came with the sander. I wanted a fine grit belt for the project I was working on. Unfortunately the store I bought this at had NO 18 in. belts to choose from. It did what I needed but is slower than I would have liked. It could at least have a variable speed selector like most decent power tools. The dust collector did not meet my expectations. I ended up connecting a vacuum hose to the exhaust port which helped with the dust collection.
