Stanley 12 ft. PowerLock Tape Measure w/ Decimal Scale

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this tape because as a furniture maker, I don’t need a full sized carpenter’s tape. I was also intrigued by the engineer’s scale. First off, the ES side of the tape isn’t a true Engineer’s scale. It’s kind of interesting being able to measure in 10ths of an inch, it’s not something that’s actually needed. Outside of that, it’s just a nice, little tape measure. I wish it had a wider blade, but it’s not a deal breaker. I dropped it from my bench onto the concrete floor and it was completely unscathed. So if you’re in the market for a good, small tape, then this is one to consider.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had one of these in my box for 25 years, it’s always been reliable and it still is. I got this new one because the numbers on the old one just aren’t as easy to read anymore. The new one solved that problem and there is also finer gradations marked than on the old one. It is also more solid feeling and the spring is better. I’m happy with it and would suggest it if you need a simple lightweight tape measure. Now if it only had metric markings on it too…

I used it mainly while rearranging my shop and the Engineer’s Scale was nice for determining what would fit where during move. It stayed clipped on my pocket and the size was compact enough to fit in a pocket if needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Exellent for fine detail precision work with first 6 inches in 50ths and 32nds. Tape is all metal and extends 4 feet unsupported. Tape is my goto when I don’t need a 25′ 1″ wide tape. Power lock is great. Everything about this tape measure is great and it feels good in your hand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as an introductory tape measure and can tell you this thing is durable. Ive dropped it on concrete and from an 8 foot ladder and this this still works. Much better than the plastic ones.
