Stanley 14 in. Back Saw with Rubber Handle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 14in FATMAX Back saw is sturdy with a nice heavy blade + steel back rib. It cuts super fast and straight. The teeth are small enough to get a cut started easily, but sharp and large enough to really cut with minimal effort and maximum speed.The handle is shaped nice and fits well in hand. It’s got a finger rest which helps with control. It’s also screwed to the plate with 2 hex screws so it’s quite secure and can be tightened over time.All around great saw and super pleased with it’s cut quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this saw to cut a piece of scrap pressure treated fir for repairing deck stairs. The teeth felt sharp to the touch on my hand, but the cutting action took longer than usual with a brand new blade. I’m hoping that maybe at least the teeth will stay this sharp much longer than saw blade teeth normally do. That would at least be a decent trade-off.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a pretty decent selection of saws, some for woodworking and others for general carpentry. This back saw fits somewhere in the middle. It’s great for finish work like crosscutting moldings and also useful for dimensioning cabinet components. Is it as good as my fancy brass-backed carcass saw? Well no, it isn’t – but surprisingly close for one tenth the price. What I really like about this saw (besides it’s very reasonable price) is that it easy to start and cuts very cleanly. What I don’t love about it is the handle. It’s a closed handle rather than a pistol grip, which I prefer for this type of saw, and is set at a higher angle to the blade than I find comfortable. Also, neither a pro or a con – the induction hardened teeth, while very sharp and sturdy, make the saw a throw-away when they eventually dull.

Its a size 14″ and has the adequate weight to have the job done easy without having to feel exhausted. The rubber handle quality is comfortable and the saw blade teeth is very sharp for quick jobs. I use it in all my projects because it simplifies my work, and gives me professional results. I totally recommended, it’s a great quality tool designed to give fascinating fine cuttings.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very impressed with this saw! I am always worried when a saw is shipped through the mail if it will arrive straight and useable. It was packaged well and straight out the box. The saw handle is large enough to handle big hands, and designed well for all users to maintain a great grip. The finger rest is on both sides for right or left-handed users, something I do not see a lot. I really appreciate the angle of the handle, it makes cutting at many angles easy and comfortable. the 3 and a quarter inches of the blade from teeth to the spine makes it very versatile and allows me to use it on whatever project I throw at it!
