Stanley 6 in. Slip Joint Pliers

Good quality slip joint pliers. Adjustment is easy and smooth. Grips are comfortable. A good set of slip joint pliers should be part of everyone’s tool kit.

It’s a good, basic par of pliers.

I ordered these pliers to replace an old pair that I’ve had for many years. I’ve always been very satisfied with Stanley products, so was happy to find these at Home Depot. Overall, the product seems very sturdy and it can definitely handle tough jobs, but the width adjustment for the plier head is extremely tight and stiff. It’s all I can do to adjust the width on these pliers. Perhaps this is an issue specific to this pair. I’m going to try a little lubricant to see if it helps.I will certainly keep these pliers and continue to use them but, if considering purchasing, do note that it may take two hands and some pull strength to adjust the grip width.
