Swanson 4 in. Aluminum Line Level

I like to use string levels for fence building. This Swanson aluminum line level is durable enough to survive rough outdoor use. I like the no snag string hooks for fast easy movement. I have broken several plastic string levels and this Swanson aluminium seems much sturdier. These are 4 inches long and have a much bigger bubble than the plastic models.

Does the job very well

Over the years I have accumulated almost every tool. I used to think bigger was better but when doing work around the house I like to use my small tool bag. So I have been filling this bag with smaller, more compact tools to make my life easier. I have a 30 inch level, but when hanging my wife’s artwork of photos of the kids I don’t need that length. This 4 inch level fits my needs. Aluminum case so when I already dropped it, it survived the fall easily, Made to hook onto line so it will be handy when I need to level two wall screws – just will run a level with fish line between two screws to make sure I am good to go.

Used this little line level in my yard. It’s easy to hang, worked like a charm. I love that it’s aluminum instead of plastic and that it’s made in the USA.

Works well

These levels are handy to have if you’re doing any kind of construction/foundation work, brick/stone laying. I am building a greenhouse foundation, couldn’t find my old line level, picked this one up. It is better made than my old one. It is very lightweight, easy to hook on the string and the bubble is easy to read. I expect this one to last for years

this level was excellent for building a level garden wall.

The Swason line level comes ready to use, it dose not require assembly. You will need at least two stakes one at each end to drive into the ground to support the line. Tie a loop in one end of the line and slip it over one stake. Attach the other end to the second stake at the height you want to achieve level. The line level goes on half way between the two stakes. Adjust the looped end of the line up or down until level is reached. The Swanson is light weight aluminum, it has little effect in sagging the line. I need to raise this bed about six inches to make it level.

Did the trick for leveling an area for a play set.
