DEWALT 16 oz. Steel Claw Hammer

All hammers can drive nails and pull most. This hammer expands what nails can be pulled with the addition of side groves for nails within a 1/2″ to an inch of the wall. It still has the ability to one hand start a nail. This setting system is better than the last hammer I had.

Nail pulling features for even sheathing staples is superb. Every crew member wants one. Eastwing and Plum is out. Dewalt is the new standard for others to beat. My wife has now taken mine from me time to go get another–and its worth every penny

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 22 oz hammer I would normally use I found the 16 oz more versatile. And I used it more often. With the same design as the framing hammer but lighter. I was able to use to set finishing nails with ease.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very well balanced and easy to swing under control finish hammer. I think it has an excellent design with 3 spots to pull nails. I’ve used this for finish work and it is lightweight and easy to use . The rubber grip makes it easy to hold and swing.. I believe the price is in line with a top quality hammer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the reduced vibration! Feels great in your hand! Doesn’t feel like it even weighs 16oz.. For a trim hammer the notches on the side of the head could be somewhat more narrow for pulling the trim nails.

Not an improvement in the handle. It’s to thin and narrow not a natural feel in the hand. It needs to be more rounded like the 12oz mig weld hammer. It’s a nice looking hammer and wished it worked for me but it didn’t. Sold to a co-worker. Dewalt fix this problem so I can purchase it again. I’m an electrician of 30yrs and this would make the perfect hammer for my trade.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dewalt hammer is incredible, feels good in hands. The grip is soft rubbery and sturdy. I hammered a nail in wood a few swings without feeling any fatigue. I like the nail and stapler remover on the head. The dewalt yellow color is beautiful the stainless steel head looks sleek. I know I will be swinging hard hit with this baby with ease.

I’m a big fan of Dewalt products So I agreed to give it a whirl… Unfortunately: I live in the Northeast and it has been raining here most of the summer, I have not had a chance to get outside and give it a real stress test. I took it to my workbench tonight, Feels good in my hands, Has a sold feel and good contact, I’m NOT a professional, And don’t swing a hammer much But it performed well in my hour of testing, I really like the nail pulling feature on the top of the head, But it did take some getting used to, Seems odd to leever to the side with a hammer handle BUT It worked wonderfully Pulling some spiral nails from a pallet. Over All the hammer is well made, And well attached to it’s handle. I requested the 16 OZ model. There are heavier models. I wish I had more time for evaluation, But Overall a Great Product.
