Henckels CLASSIC 6 in. Meat Cleaver

Excellent for cutting through bones and tendons. Easily break down a chicken or slab of ribs. Comes in handy for cutting hard squash and smashing garlic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this product for on my own nefarious purpose of making Asian style chicken soup. The bones are a huge part of the soup and I was destroying my conventional knives to cut a whole chicken. When my gave it a try, she became a true believer of high quality brand name products by Henckels. She had been using standard-issue asian made cleavers, which will last a lifetime, sharpen with little issues, and get the job done. But after giving this cleaver a whirl, was thoroughly impressed with the fact that she did not have to use as much muscle and the blade never dulled. If this isn’t a worthy testimonial, I don’t know what is. I mean, she’s my mom, she can cook!

A meat cleaver that actually works. Handle are so comfortable and heavy duty to cut every bones in that meat. This is one of the essential to have along with your kitchen tools.

I really liked this cleaver and does a great job on Chicken bones. It is heavy enough to do most of the work for you but not too heavy to lift. It’s much more satisfying to take apart a chicken yourself instead of buying a fryer cut up,. The meat justs taste fresher and you have a little more control on size of the pieces. This cleaver does what it needs too. My husband uses it on ribs as well and has no complaints!
