I just purchased my first KitchenAid stand mixer. When I unpacked the box, I was amazed that, after spending a lot of money on this mixer, that the wire whip was an oxidized aluminum, ugly attachment that I wouldn’t want to touch my food. Even after I washed it, it was very shabby and discolored. My question to KitchenAid is why did you cheap out on this attachment? This should be shiny stainless steel that you are not afraid to put in your food.

I was so disappointed because I love and trust all my Kitchen Aid mixers. (I have owned only two with life spans of almost 50 years!.) I bake with a group of ladies and we mail homemade treats to deployed service men and my old Kitchen Aid mixer has made laboring sounds when I mix up batches of biscotti and other cookies. My rating below is based on my first two mixers, not this one that has been returned for credit.
