There are a zillion ways to do a job badly. Sometimes, you may not care all that much … but sometimes, it makes a difference. This is one of those times. You do not want to butcher a big cable before you attach a connector. There is too much power and a mistake can be costly and dangerous. Get proper tools and learn how to use them before you need to know. It’s important and the results will show.
