This model includes a full 4 in. of stroke capacity, allowing users to drill through materials up to 4 in. thick. With such a large spindle travel, drilling holes through a 4×4 board has never been easier. Adjust our variable speed anywhere from 280 to 1000 RPM with the simple turn of a lever, or make a quick belt adjustment for variable speed ranging from 1000 to 3300 RPM. The digital readout reports the current RPM of the machine for increased accuracy when drilling. The 12 in. x 12 in. cast iron table pivots up to 45 degrees in both directions while the laser pointer ensures precise holes. The chuck with Morse #2 spindle taper accepts bits anywhere from 1/12 to 5/8 in. in size. Cast iron frame and base gives the machine a hefty support system to prevent the drill press from walking or vibrating. The WEN 15 in. First off, looking at some reviews, if you can’t assemble a drill press then chances are you probably don’t need to use one. Assembled press in 20 mins. Everything was packed well and worked right out of the box. For the price, what more could you ask for? This is the same drill press that has other manufactures names stamped on it but with a far better price point.

This is not a $1,500 drill press but for the money it is a good buy. The variable speed is a nice thing to have. The only reason i gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is the rpm led stays on constantly. I add a main on/off switch to it to be able to turn it off so it doesn’t burn out prematurely.

Excellent drill press but, the assembly instructions leave much to be desired! I followed the instructions to the letter and had trouble right off the bat with the table support bracket instructions. They forgot to mention that the only way to get the hand crank on the table to engage the column raise/lower gear is to insert the gear into the bracket BEFORE sliding the entire unit onto the support column! The next problem with the instructions was after installing the drill chuck, the next step was to “remove the chuck”!! Why should I remove the chuck after I had just installed it? Next, the instructions mention a “location pin”in the table support bracket. This model has no location pin in the table support bracket! In closing, I am still happy and impressed with this drill press!
