DEWALT Metal Retractable Utility Knife

Zero issues. Took me literally 5seconds to change the blade. If you can’t figure this knife out leave the home remodeling to someone else.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The knife is very well built. It has a cushion rubber grip handle that you don’t normally get at this price range. The sliding action of the blade is extremely smooth. The button to change the blade is near where your thumb naturally sits which makes it seems a lot safer when changing the blade than the other styles that are near the end. I am very satisfied with the knife and plan on buying a couple more. (You can never own enough utility knifes.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rubber hand grip on bottom makes it easy to hold, while smooth sides make it easy to pocket. Strong metal construction. Button/latch to open blade storage is plastic & a little akward; hard for big fingers & probably the first component to fail. Tool-less blade change is fast & easy.

Great knife! Compartment holds a bunch of blades and changing the blade couldn’t be simpler. Was shocked to see the negative reviews….there’s an obvious black button right where your thumb goes (if you’re right handed) that releases the blade. Love this knife!

I bought this on Black Friday in a kit with a folding fixed blade also. There is picture on the back of the package showing how to change a blade, although nothing showing the blade storage for the retractable one. I inserted the blade and was unable to retreat it. That’s when I came here 🙂 looking for instructions. I did take it apart, with what is now a torx bit screw. Did not see anything that would be stopping it from retracting. Before putting it back together I put a little bit of bearing grease on the tray caddie where it slides. After reassembly, it works like a champ and slides very smooth.

Good angle and comfortable in use. Easy blade change, but blade storage is less than ideal.

Great utility knife, you can cut the materials very accurate and with precision, the knife can be release with ease and put another back in very easy. It comes with extra knives, I’m very happy with the purchase of this utility knife.

Very simple to use. And change blades out. side lever depress and slide in new blades. Blade storage just push the yellow button on back and it swings down. Love it. The retract it the only problem I had. Going to try a dab of grease others have suggested. No rocket science here just simple well made knife. Directions could help those challenged at using tools.
